How and where are Miss Helen’s bakes made?

Miss Helen’s treats are baked and decorated fresh to order at our home kitchen in Micklefield.


All our cupcakes, cakes and treats are freshly baked each day in small batches and iced one order at a time.

Can I collect from you?

Of course! Miss Helen’s operates from a residential address in Micklefield, so collections are strictly by appointment.


Please let us know if you would like to collect a day in advance, and we will work to accommodate this.

How long will my treats stay fresh for?

All our products are made without artificial preservatives and we recommend eating them on the day to enjoy them at their best. Depending on your needs, you may want to get your cakes a day before you plan to serve them, and that’s fine too - just store in their boxes at room temperature, or in the fridge if the weather is very warm.


If you have popped your cakes in the fridge, please allow them to come to room temperature before serving - this may take several hours for large cakes. If you find you have cupcakes leftover, they’ll stay fresh in their box for a day or so, or an additional day in an airtight container.

Do you make free-from treats?

We bake all our treats in our home kitchen which regularly handles gluten, dairy, eggs and nuts.


Please inform us of any dietary requirements at the point of order, and we will discuss these needs with you before confirmation of your order.

Do you deliver?

We are able to offer delivery in and around Leeds & Wakefield, for a small additional charge. Our standard delivery postcodes are LS1-15, LS18, LS26-28; WF1-6.

If you are slightly further away, please ask about delivery - we may well be able to help you out!

Custom orders will include delivery in the quoted price - please get in touch for more details!

How and when do I pay for my cake?

A 30% booking fee is required for wedding cakes payable at the time of booking. The remaining balance is payable one calendar month prior to the wedding.


For birthdays and other celebration cakes full payment is required at the time of booking. We can accept payment by cash, card, BACs or Paypal. 


Please note no booking is confirmed until the booking fee or full balance has been paid. All booking fees are non refundable.

How far ahead should I order?

We kindly request a minimum of one week in advance for general orders, and a minimum of one month for wedding cakes. 

For custom orders, it is advisable to give us as much notice as possible, especially for weddings and other large orders. 

We will always try to accommodate last-minute orders whenever we can; if you need an urgent order, please email us directly at and we’ll do our very best to help!

Can I try some samples?

Yes! For weddings and large custom orders, we encourage you to come to a tasting session where you can try some different flavours and discuss designs and ideas for your cakes.

Sample flavours are generally our most popular flavours, and will give a good indication of the quality of our cakes to allow you to make an informed choice from the full menu.

What if I need to amend or cancel my order?

If you need to change the date or details of your order or cancel it, please contact us as far in advance as possible.


We will always be as accommodating as we can if you need to change or postpone an order but please bear in mind that we may have had to turn away other customers to fulfil your booking for a particular date so refunds/changes are not always possible.

Can I alter the design of my cake after booking?

Up to a certain point we may still be able to alter the design or design elements of your cake and we will be as accommodating as possible.


If the alteration affects the overall cost then your balance will be adjusted and any additional costs must be paid.
